Rubber Extruding

The extruder is a power driven screw contained in a cylinder.  Rubber is fed into the cylinder at one end and the rotating screw pushes the uncured material out of the opposite end through a die cavity.

The rubber is under significant shear and heat is generated during this process.  The rubber upon exiting the die cavity is conveyed onto a belt where it is cured or wound onto a plate for autoclave cure.

Extrusion Types

Extrusions can be complex seal designs or simple geometric shapes.  Most hoses are manufactured via and extruded process. Various vacuuming forming process use extruded seals to achieve vacuum.

Available Extrusions

We have a wide range of extruder dies available.  Many stock extrusions are kept for quick shipment.  Custom dies can be fabricated to supply you with the exact shape that you need.
