Hydroform Rubber Wear Pads
Mosites Rubber Company has supplied rubber parts to the metal forming industry for a number of years. Mosites #651 is specially compounded for optimum performance in forming rubber applications. These operations include but are not limited to bladder hydro-forming, hydro-presses, fluid forming, diaphragm forming, bulge forming, drop hammer and metal spinning.
These pads are used on hydroforming presses, bladder press equipment, and drop hammer machines. A full range of hardnesses are available for optimum forming of each type and thickness of metal blank. The pads are available in standard widths, lengths and thicknesses, but Mosites Rubber Company also offers custom molded pads in various shapes up to 12 inches in thickness. All Mosites #651 Forming Rubber Pads are non-marking, cream color formulations and thus can eliminate cleaning operations on the formed pads. Another advantage is the good resistance of Mosites # 651 to the deteriorating effects of machine oil or rust preventative commonly applied to metal surfaces.
The physical properties shown below were obtained in molded 0.080-inch thick molded ASTM samples. They are typical of the various Mosites Rubber Company # 651 compounds, but they should not be used to set Quality Control Specification minimum requirements.

- Mosites # 651 sheets are non-marking (cream color)
- Mosites # 651 sheets should be heated before use approximately 250 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes whether for hot or cold forming. Heating once is sufficient for all day.
- Mosites # 651 sheets are recommended for forming magnesium heated to 750 degrees Fahrenheit or titanium heated to 1300 degrees Fahrenheit-short duration.
- Mosites # 651 sheets are recommended for cold forming stainless steel on deep draws, compound curves and shrink flanges.
- Mosites # 651 sheets can be made in thicknesses up to 12” on special order.
