10269 Viton® – Tool Sealant
Mosites #10269 is a cream colored, high temperature Viton Fluoroelastomer coating that is used to seal against vacuum loss due to hairline cracks in composite tooling. The coating allows the tools to be repaired and quickly returned to service. The light cream color of Mosites # 10269 Tool Sealant helps to ensure adequate coating coverage on normally black tool surfaces.
It is supplied in thin milled, elastomer sheet form; with amine catalyst and mixing instructions with solvent to produce the coating consistency required. The shelf life of non catalyzed solution is 12 months when kept in refrigerated storage of 40°F or below. Catalyzed solution can be stored up to 3 weeks if left in a freezer at 0°F or below.
The physical properties shown below were obtained on a cast sheet of Mosites # 10269 Tool Sealant, approximately 0.010” thick. The properties are typical of Mosites # 10269, but they should not be used to set Quality Control Specification minimum requirements.
Cure Time-24 Hours at 75°F plus 1 hour at 400°F in the oven.
